A netizen’s social media post has spotlighted an unusual police office building in Yuyao, East China’s Zhejiang Province, adorned with a giant blue bow on its exterior wall. A police officer confirmed that, in addition to the bow, the building also features a graffiti of Black Cat Sheriff, a beloved Chinese cartoon character, The Paper reported on Wednesday.

Recently, a netizen surnamed Sun posted a photo of a building’s exterior wall and exclaimed, "Yuyao’s public security bureau has ushered into the next level." The photo shows the office building’s main body in white, with intersecting blue packaging ribbons painted on its side wall using blue pigment and paint. Below it, a small, light-blue structure resembling a gift box further enhances the whimsical aesthetic, The Paper reported.

Sun said the building is the office of the Jiangbei district branch of the Yuyao city’s traffic police brigade. Sun said she accidentally noticed the bow decoration on the building’s exterior wall while passing by. "It felt like a pleasant surprise, and I’m proud that my city has taken effort to bring buildings to life," she said, according to the report.

The post quickly went viral, drawing lively reactions online. Some netizens expressed plans to visit for photos, while others praised the design as "serious yet sprightly."

A police officer confirmed that the bow was added to the office building’s exterior late last year. The official also mentioned that, in addition to the bow, there is a Black Cat Sheriff graffiti on the building’s façade, the Paper said.

Despite online buzz, the number of visitors stopping by for photos remains modest, the officer said.
