China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced on Saturday that, starting March 23, anti-dumping duties will continue to be imposed on imported resorcinol originating from Japan, with a duration of five years. The MOFCOM determines that if the anti-dumping measures are terminated, the dumping of imported resorcinol originating from Japan may continue or reoccur, potentially causing continued or renewed harm to China's resorcinol industry.

This decision follows the final review of anti-dumping measures for imported resorcinol from Japan, initiated on March 23, 2024, in response to a request from the Chinese resorcinol industry.

The anti-dumping duties on imported resorcinol from the US expired on March 23, 2024, as the US stopped production of resorcinol, and no application for a final review was submitted, according to MOFCOM's announcement.

MOFCOM first imposed anti-dumping duties on resorcinol imported from Japan and the US on March 23, 2013, with duties set at 40.5 percent for Japan and 30.1 percent for the US. These measures were extended for another five years in 2019, as stated by MOFCOM.
