India: Vibrant Holi 2025 hosted in Beijing, celebrating spring

The Embassy of the Republic of India hosted vibrant Holi 2025 celebrations full of pomp and circumstance in Beijing on March 23. The event welcomed enthusiastic participates from the Indian community in China, members of the diplomatic community, and Chinese citizens to celebrate the festival of unity, love, and spring. 

At the same event venue, the embassy hosted the Vasant Mela 2025 on March 22. Embodying the spirit of "Timeless heritage, endless joy," the Vasant Mela 2025 staged impressive Indian classical dances, and a classical music concert on tabla, sitar, and mridangam. 

Indian Ambassador to China Pradeep Kumar Rawat, said in his opening remarks that spring is a time for new beginnings and the strengthening of bonds, and a celebration of art, culture, and a unique opportunity for all to experience the essence of India. 

Several participants told the Global Times that they enjoyed strolling through the event venue, practicing yoga together and having authentic Indian cuisine with friends at a variety of stalls. Participants went to see the exquisite artistry and craftmanship of Indian artisans.
