The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command started to conduct joint exercises on Tuesday, organizing its army, navy, air and rocket forces to close in toward the Taiwan island from multiple directions. These drills mainly focus on sea-air combat-readiness patrols, joint seizure of comprehensive superiority, assault on maritime and ground targets, and blockade on key areas and sea lanes so as to test joint operation capabilities of its troops.
The PLA Eastern Theater Command also released a short video titled "Subdue Demons and Vanquish Evils," which compares the skills of the Chinese mythological character Sun Wukong in eliminating "evils" to the PLA's powerful combat capabilities. The video concludes with Sun Wukong defeating a "venomous frog," symbolizing the PLA's aim to attack and eliminate "Taiwan independence" secessionism.
The video combines scenes from the video game Black Myth: Wukong with the capabilities of the PLA, showcasing warplanes flying through clouds, fighter jets taking off from aircraft carriers, airborne troops parachuting, helicopters lining up, bombers performing an elephant walk, DF missiles being erected, stealth aircraft and vessels executing penetration strikes, and drones conducting reconnaissance. These displays highlight the PLA's strong capabilities in fast mobilization, multidimensional strikes, stealth defense penetration, reconnaissance and early warning, as well as pinpoint attacks.
A military affairs expert stated that the video showed multiple actual locations on the island and, for the first time, displayed the PLA's capability for precision reconnaissance, as the "Taiwan independence" armed forces and secessionists have become transparent to the PLA. This serves as a strong deterrence.
The video also featured a monster that looks like a green frog. The experts said that the green frog is a term often used by netizens to refer to the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). Since Lai Ching-te took office, he promoted so-called poison frog and porcupine strategies for Taiwan region's military equipment against the Chinese mainland, unaware of his limitations. The "green frog" under the PLA's stick indicated "Taiwan independence" forces led by Lai will ultimately face severe consequences.
Experts said that the "Taiwan independence" forces led by Lai have been engaging in green terror and authoritarian rule, and have become the main culprits that harm the people on the island. The PLA's release of " Subdue Demons and Vanquish Evils" at this time is not only a strong call to those on the island who resist authoritarianism, but also sounded the clarion call to "complete the great cause of reunification and realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation."
