A woman riding an e-bike was struck by a falling tree during strong winds in Jin'an District in Lu'an, East China's Anhui Province on Saturday and died despite rescue efforts, the Jin'an District said on its WeChat account on Sunday.

According to the investigation, a 55-year-old woman surnamed Shen was riding an electric bicycle when strong winds caused a roadside tree to suddenly collapse, striking and injuring her. Bystanders and emergency responders immediately transported her to the hospital, but Shen succumbed to her injuries, said the article.

"We express our deepest condolences to the deceased and extend our sincere sympathies to her family," the article said.

The Anhui Provincial Meteorological Service issued a yellow wind warning on Saturday morning. It is forecasted that within the next 48 hours, most areas of the province will experience average wind speeds of force 4 to 5, with gusts reaching force 8 to 10, and locally exceeding force 11 in some areas, according to China News.
