The 2025 World Exposition commenced in Osaka, Japan on Sunday. Under the theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives," Chinese enterprises exhibit their latest technological advancements, showcasing a wide range of innovative solutions that underscore China's commitment to sustainable development and cutting-edge innovation.

When addressing China Pavilion's opening ceremony on the same day, Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), said that the Chinese government supports Japan in hosting the Osaka Expo and attaches great importance to China's participation in the event.

He emphasized China's commitment to promoting a multipolar world that is equitable and orderly, alongside an inclusive and mutually beneficial economic globalization, according to a CCPIT statement.

Chinese robotics firm UBTECH is showcasing its two humanoid robots - "Walker C" and "Alpha Mini" - at the China Pavilion, offering spectators intelligent tour guide services, human-robot interaction experiences and dance performances.

Walker C is a full-size, fully electric-driven embodied intelligent robot with 163 centimeters in tall and 43 kilograms in weight. It supports multilingual interactions for commercial applications in exhibition halls and office buildings, offering reception, guiding services, voice broadcasting, and entertainment powered by UBTECH's self-developed artificial intelligence (AI) large model.

With a highly biomimetic torso design and advanced humanoid motion control, Walker C possesses over 20 degrees of freedom and can run stably at six kilometers per hour, according to a statement from the company.

The portable humanoid robot Alpha Mini features a built-in LCD-screen eyes that can display emotions. It has rich interactive features including visual, motion and voice interaction. Its camera enables photography, high-precision facial recognition, and object recognition. Its 14 servo motors enable dynamic actions like dancing, kung fu and yoga.

At the China Pavilion, a dozen of Alpha Mini robots dance to the traditional Chinese melody "High Mountains and Flowing Water," demonstrating the harmonious blend of art and cutting-edge technology, the company stated.

Chinese AI company iFlytek transformed the iconic Chinese mythological figure Sun Wukong into a digitally reimagined character using its AI technology, creating a hybrid presentation that blends traditional animation aesthetics with modern technological elements, according toa statement sent to the Global Times.

The presentation, based on iFlytek's Xinghuo large-scale model, integrates noise-resistant speech recognition, multi-emotion speech synthesis, and multimodal interaction capabilities, which enables smooth interactive dialogues in Chinese, Japanese, and English allowing global audiences to experience the fusion of Chinese culture and AI innovation firsthand.

UBTECH's and iFlytek's displays at the Osaka Expo 2025 showcase China's latest advancements in the relevant fields to the world and enhance the international influence of Chinese technology, Wang Peng, an associate research fellow at the Beijing Academy of Social Sciences, told the Global Times on Sunday.

"Moreover, the exhibitions can attract more domestic and international companies and investors to focus on China's AI industry and promote cooperation and development along the entire industry chain," Wang added.

The China Pavilion at the Osaka Expo 2025 spans 3,509 square meters and is one of the largest self-built foreign pavilions at this expo. Aside from robots and AI technologies, other exhibits include lunar soil samples collected from both sides of the moon by China's Chang'e 5 and 6 probes, the experience pod of China's manned deep-sea submersible Jiaolong, according to the CCPIT.
