The upcoming Electronica China 2025, taking place from Tuesday to Thursday at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, is set to feature dedicated areas for key sectors, including semiconductors and electronic manufacturing services, with more than 1,700 domestic and international companies expected to participate.

As an important global trade fair for electronics, Electronica China 2025 will provide a comprehensive platform to boost global cooperation along the entire electronics industrial chain, from product design and development to application implementation, which will once again underscore China's pivotal role in the global electronics supply chain, despite challenges posed by US tariff hikes and tech suppression.

The event will showcase China's significant contributions to the global electronics industry through technological innovation, industrial upgrading and international collaboration. Despite the challenges posed by US trade restrictions and geopolitical interference, the resilience of global and regional supply chains remains strong. The underlying economic and trade frameworks continue to operate effectively, demonstrating their robustness in the face of geopolitical challenges.

Electronica China 2025 will focus on key areas such as new-energy vehicles, smart factories and the Internet of Things, providing a platform for global enterprises to showcase their innovations and exchange ideas. This collaborative platform is expected to accelerate the commercialization of new technologies and stimulate innovation within the global electronics sector.

China has emerged as a strategic hub for international cooperation by establishing a new industrial ecosystem and maintaining its commitment to high-standard openness. China has also established itself as a major player in the global electronics manufacturing and export market.

Emerging production hubs of laptops, tablets and mobile phones elsewhere still rely heavily on Chinese components, Rhodium Group said in a report with the headline "China and the Future of Global Supply Chains" in February.

However, US trade restrictions and technological suppression not only impact the American economy but also pose challenges to global economic stability. These policies have led to a reconfiguration of supply chains, increasing the risk of disruptions for many companies and limiting international technological exchanges, which in turn weakens global innovation momentum.

As the US government continues to make back-and-forth decisions regarding tariffs and trade restrictions, particularly affecting the electronics industry, global electronics sectors are bracing for ripple effects that could reshape supply chains, trade routes and strategic investments. In this context, China's commitment to high-standard opening-up presents significant development opportunities, injecting vital momentum to stabilize global industrial cooperation and trade.

China's vast market will continue to provide significant driving force for the growth of the global electronic manufacturing industry. The enormous consumer base of more than 1.4 billion people, the most comprehensive industrial chain in the world, and the diverse application scenarios generated by digital transformation together create a virtuous cycle of demand driving supply and supply creating demand, resulting in an industry resilience that is difficult to replicate.

In the face of trade tensions and restrictions imposed by the US, China has reinforced its position in global electronics cooperation and trade through technological innovation and industrial upgrading. This proactive approach helps mitigate risks associated with technological blockades and ensure the stability of the global electronics supply chain.

China is actively working to further expand opening-up in sectors like telecommunications to attract increased foreign investment in the digital and services sectors. Additionally, China, in collaboration with other nations, is promoting multilateral trade facilitation and supply chain cooperation mechanisms such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.

China's unwavering commitment to advancing high-level opening-up not only drives the growth of its own electronics sector but also creates significant opportunities for stability and innovation within the global electronics supply chain. Looking ahead, China is well-positioned to continue playing a vital role in the global electronics industry, collaborating with countries worldwide to foster sustainable development in the sector.
