After widespread public concerns were raised by the city authorities' prohibition of red, blue and black colors on the plaques at the doors of the merchants, the principal official of the local Party committee in Sanhe city in North China's Hebei Province who was responsible for the issue has been removed from post. A joint investigation group from Langfang city, which Sanhe city falls under the jurisdiction of, confirmed the situation, according to the official website of Langfang city on Tuesday.

Sanhe city's local Party committee and government have been ordered to conduct a deep self-reflection, learn from the incident, and carry out a comprehensive rectification.

Next, based on the investigation results, the relevant individuals will be held accountable in accordance with regulations, disciplines and laws.

At the same time, a long-term mechanism will be enhanced to ensure "zero tolerance" for actions that harm public interests or undermine the business environment, and to firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of businesses and the general public.
