The impact of US' tariffs on Chinese robotics company Unitree is currently limited, a Shenzhen-based regional head of Unitree Robotics told the Global Times.

The remarks were made during the 2025 China International Consumer Products Expo in Haikou, South China's Hainan Province.

"Our products are sold globally, and the US is just one of many markets we serve," Lin Zhilong, the Shenzhen regional head of Unitree, told the Global Times. "We do import some components from the US and other countries, but these are not irreplaceable or essential to our core production."

"Most of our key components are not from the US, and our in-house research and development (R&D) capabilities are already quite advanced," he added.

Lin emphasized that Unitree exports to more than 100 countries and regions, and that advanced economies like the Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia and the Middle East—remain key drivers of growth.

Unitree is a civilian robotics company and one of "six elite companies" of Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang Province. The company made a striking appearance on China's 2025 Spring Festival Gala, one of the country's most-watched annual TV events, deploying 16 humanoid robots to perform a synchronized folk dance alongside human dancers. The demonstration of advanced motion control and precise synchronization technologies drew significant attention from both domestic and international media outlets.
